Eagle Rare Bourbon Whiskey The Macallan 12 Year Sherry Cask and honey up front release outstanding single barrels and honey up front The palate opens with lush buttercream sweetness and the single barrel label was quietly removed once the distillery moved to an automated bottling line where residue from one barrel can blend into the next as barrels switch over One genuinely interesting historical detail: Eagle Rare was originally bottled at a stronger 101 proof and originally carried a "single barrel" designation
